Theme: Power, Presence & the Black Equestrian Spirit
The STAND Foundation invites artists to submit original works that celebrate the powerful intersection of Black identity and equestrian culture. This open call is part of the Black Equestrian Summer Bash 2025, a dynamic outdoor experience that honors Black joy, creativity, wellness, and the timeless bond between humans and horses. We are looking for work that captures the majesty, freedom, strength, and cultural significance of the Black equestrian tradition — from historical legacies to modern expressions of excellence.
We’re looking for artwork that:
Honors the legacy of Black cowboys, cowgirls, and equestrians
Explores the symbolic and emotional power of horses
Centers themes of freedom, movement, heritage, and healing
Pushes the narrative forward through bold visual storytelling
Submission Guidelines:
Theme: Work must clearly engage with equestrian themes (horses, riders, Black equestrian life, the human–horse connection, etc.)
Eligible Media: Painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, sculpture, digital art
Submission Limit: Up to 3 works per artist
Submission Deadline: August 10, 2025
Display Details: Selected work will be featured during the Black Equestrian Summer Bash on August 31, 2025, with opportunities for artist recognition and on-site sales.
